Are you in crisis? Please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255), a free, 24-hour hotline available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. Your call will be routed to the nearest crisis center.

The Douglas County Suicide Prevention Alliance is a coalition of organizations representing mental health providers, law enforcement agencies, schools, youth initiatives, fire rescue departments, hospitals, and faith communities.

Over the last four years Douglas County has seen the highest number of suicides on record. In each of those years, more than 30 people died by suicide leaving behind devastated families, friends and communities.

Responding to this crisis, DCSPA’s mission is to implement comprehensive, community wide initiatives for preventing suicide in Douglas County, Colorado.

“Aiming for Zero” is our commitment to eliminating suicides in Douglas County. It reflects our understanding that regardless of the resources available, some people will choose death over life. We are none-the-less aiming for zero suicides each and every day.
